Intro
Cooking was a very important part of your pioneer life and it started with veggies and small animals that the men had hunted in the woods around the house cooking was often the thing that many people thought about all though out the day eating was what would save them from starving. But of course no one would eat the food if it didn't taste good that is where cooking came in that meant they could roast corn and cook potatoes. cooking really saved people from starving.

food on the wagon.
hunting for protean.
Farming/gardening
ON the long trip west most of the people packed all their food with them and brought it with them in their covered wagon. This food mostly consisted of flour, cornmeal, bacon, coffee, sugar salt beans, caned fruits and vegetables , molasses ,and beef. when the pioneers got to their new homes the began to make their own food first over the fire place then over a oven.Though hardly and cooking utensils were brought on the wagon to make room for the other stuff. The most popular food in the west was corn they made corn bread, roasted corn, corn meal, and even more corn!!! Of course corn was not all they would eat they would eat small animals that the men had hunted and they would often start a garden that they would get squash, and potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, spinach,. but they didn't have a store to go so just getting the potatoes was hard because you have to plant it carefully then they half to grow!!!
